The Inner Judge
The foundations of personality ¯ who I take myself to be - are moral and ethical values together as well as a code of behavior. Their goal is to guarantee our survival and make us acceptable and fitting within the standards of a specific family and society. Every time we move towards freedom and we challenge the rigid boundaries of personality, the inner judge (superego) will attack us cause its function is to protect and maintain the status quo and oppose change and transformation.
The most important step to fully be myself and actualize my individuality is to learn to defend against the attacks of the judge by developing focused alertness and skillful means. In this first group you will understand how the inner judge functions and where it comes from and learn to defend against its attacks practicing presence and self-inquiry.
The Inner Judge 2, superego, self-image and space
To be able to grow, to feel good and to experience the subtle manifestations of Being, we need a conscious relation with Space. Perhaps you have noticed that when you feel good, when you feel expanded, when you feel connected with yourself you perceive space in a different way than when you are depressed or disconnected. This relation between how we experience Space (inner and outer) and wellbeing is fundamental and related to our awareness of our self-image and the dynamics of the Superego (inner judge).
One of the basic functions of the judge is to hold and protect a particular self-image through habits, judgments and mechanisms of defense and survival. This self-image exists as a collection of psychic, emotional and physical boundaries which define who is ³me² and who is the ³other². Very much like the walls of a castle they protect and contain what is ³inside² and separate it from what is ³outside'. Our perception of Space, both inner and outer, is therefore conditioned by these walls, these images and by the Superego and they prevent us from experiencing the real nature of the mind: the Void, Space in its absolute purity.
Testimonials
ŒAvikal Costantino's workshop on the SuperEgo was outstanding for those who would like to uncover the possible limitations their inner judge has on their lives. He is a highly skilled facilitator who is congruent in body and language enabling a safe and supportive environment in which to explore one's possibilities. I highly recommend his workshops to anyone who wants to explore how they can experience life more fully' .

'After 14 years of doing powerful, cathartic and sometimes extremely intense and challenging workshops and seminars, I finally got to the design and construction of my anxiety in SuperEgo I and II. What a relief! When you are ready to clean the floor of the basement and commence your own life, do both of these programs.'
Mark Gleeson, Psychologist/ Facilitator, Australia
'I want to thank Avikal Costantino for creating the processes Superego 1 & 2. They are so intense and yet so gentle. He leads them with the immediacy and precision of Martial Arts and, at the same time, with the tenderness of someone who is picking a flower. This work has helped me to recognize, manage and learn to use the attacks of the inner judge in support of my life rather than against my energy and passion for living. The results of this understanding and the connected experience of spaciousness have soon began to manifest in my personal and professional life with incredible precision and synchronicity. I recommend to everybody this processes which I recognize now as the fundamental base for any growth.'
