the freedom to be oneself: Mastering the Inner Judge
A training in 3 parts with Avikal
The Inner Judge is the most fundamental obstacle to transformation as its main function is to defend the status-quo of the personality and the false identity. In the process of liberation and self-realization it is inevitable and essential to encounter the Judge and understand in depth the dynamics between Ego (the child) and Superego (internalized authority figures: the judge).
As aggression, manipulation, unworthiness, guilt, shame, judgements and prejudices belong to this internal dynamic and manifest externally as ways we relate and live life, it is not excessive to say that without dealing with the Judge there is hardly any chance of freedom and authenticity.
The training is designed at the same time as a journey of exploration of the presence of the Judge and the consequent patterns of behaviour and as a ground for learning how to work with the Judge both with oneself and with others. It is needless to say that you cannot effectively work with others as a spiritual therapist, coach or teacher unless you know how to deal with the Superego and have dealt with yours.
Part 1 deals with the formation of the Superego, its strategies and components, different kinds of unconscious defences, how to practice presence, centering and grounding, learning the basics of self-inquiry. The emphasis is on understanding experientially the presence of the Judge in the physical and emotional bodies through active meditations, breath work, techniques for unwinding of the autonomic nervous system, Hara awareness, work with senses and inquiry.
Part 2 deals with how the Judge affects relationships, recreates fixed self-images and supports the false identity. How the Superego blocks the manifestation of Essential Space and holds the principle of scarcity.
Working with the Superego: giving individual and couple sessions.
Practice of technique.
Part 3 . In this part will be taught how to lead
a basic weekend on the Inner Judge: structure, techniques, sequence
etc. Access to this part will have to be discussed with Avikal
at the end of part 2 on an individual basis. |
